If you are interested in applying to Spruce Mountain Inn, please consider the following general criteria. We serve:
- Young adults aged 17-28 who
- Experience mental health issues impacting mood, relationships, and daily affairs such as school, employment, or other elements of adult life.
- May have co-occurring substance use or addiction-related compulsive behaviors.
- May struggle with social skills, self-esteem, and sense of direction
- Are seeking therapeutic residential treatment that will help them reach vocational, educational, and independent living goals
If you believe Spruce may be the right fit, please contact us by phone or email so we can discuss your current situation, your needs, and how our program might help you reach your treatment goals. All admissions begin with an initial phone consultation in which we will advise you if we have openings or can offer you a spot on our wait list. We can also arrange a time for you to visit us here on campus, which many residents and families find extremely helpful as they try to sort out their options for treatment.
If after the initial phone consultation you wish to move forward with applying for an open space or active wait list spot, we will request that you have clinical records sent to us for review so that we may gain a deeper understanding of your history and treatment needs. Useful records include previous assessments, clinical summaries, discharge summaries from other programs or hospitals, testing results, or other treatment-related information. If you are considering seeking admission, you may wish to begin collecting these documents as soon as possible as requesting medical records can sometimes be cumbersome. We will likely ask to speak with a current treatment provider as well.
The final piece of the Spruce admissions process is an interview with our Director and/or Assistant Director. These interviews can happen in person when you visit us for a tour, or we will conduct a phone interview. This interview is an opportunity for you to ask any questions you have about our program and what to expect. We will also ask you some basic questions about your goals for coming to Spruce Mountain.
Once accepted to Spruce, we will agree upon an admission date and begin the process of completing admissions paperwork, arranging financial details, and attending to other details of your arrival here.
