Testimonials

I want to thank all of you, the staff, for your enduring support and gentle guidance, for helping me through knowing when to step in and when to allow me to stumble on my own. You have all helped me through so much in so many ways. It would not be exaggerating to say that I owe you not only my recovery, but my very life itself. My gratitude exceeds my capacity to verbalize
Resident from Massachusetts
It is my great pleasure to thank you for the support you provided my daughter in her struggle to become a happy and functional adult. Because of your belief in fostering the human spirit, you made it possible for T. to find her own strength and define her personal weaknesses. You were there to encourage, support and nudge her to continue the tough road to recovery.
Parent from New Jersey
I have finally visited Spruce Mountain Inn. My, oh my, was I impressed. Your staff helped me get a sense of what a caring, responsible and loving place Spruce Mountain is. All of you together project an image of substance: a real, honest haven for these adults and their families therefore.

a whole-picture approach

Our Philosophy

a whole picture approach

Our Philosophy

Spruce Mountain Inn’s residential treatment philosophy for young adults is based on a whole-picture approach. Our treatment model is designed to teach clients how to manage the various spheres of a successful, independent life. We believe a whole-picture approach is more effective than treating mental health diagnoses and symptoms alone. The Spruce Mountain Inn approach to residential treatment for young adults is:
Holistic treatment

Comprehensive

A dedicated treatment team uses a holistic treatment approach, integrating attention to emotional wellness, career and educational development, and practical skills development in helping residents transition to successful independence.

Inter-disciplinary

Customized

A dedicated master’s-level clinical Case Manager coordinates an interdisciplinary team for each of our residents. Case Managers work closely with residents on setting goals and tracking progress, and Case Managers serve as the main point of contact for families and collateral service providers.

dedicated treatment teams

Continuous

Each resident works continuously with a dedicated multidisciplinary treatment team who follows their progress through the Spruce Mountain Inn program continuum toward greater independence, a less structured living situation, and increased responsibility.

an intimate support community

Community-based

Our small size allows us to cultivate an intimate support community that enhances the efficacy of our treatment model and allows residents to build and benefit from peer relationships. Additionally, residents are supported as they engage in real-world activities outside of Spruce—including work, volunteerism, and recreation and/or attending school or community recovery support groups.
